For example, in the regular season there must be 28 active players. These players are included to the 40-man roster.
There are some nuances in this sphere. The number 1 was the 2020 season. MLB cared about players’ health and allowed the clubs to extend this list for period of time. For the first two weeks of the season, this number was 30, then 28 and after four weeks, the number returned to the traditional 26. Another is that all roster members accrue the League’s service time. Besides, the minimal quantity of executors inside is 25.
The rules limit only 13 pitchers in the active roster. Any club can add extra pitcher for regular season. The players don’t change their status till the season ends.
