Caught stealing
What is caught stealing in baseball?
The fielder catches the baserunner stealing when the latter advances or leads off between the bases before the ball being batted. This maneuver finishes with the runner tagged out during this attempt. The CS isn’t suitable for batter runners or runners in progress.
There are several cases when the fielders credit caught stealing. One of them occurs when they put out the runner. The same is actual for occasions when there is a rundown play with an equal finish. Fielders often get an outs aerror credit and the runner is caught stealing despite the safe position. That’s because the judgement of the official scorer considers it out because the ball had been caught. Really, this score isn’t made. The officials charge the error only due to the bad throw or this option opens the runner a possibility to take the next base or even fill the home run.
