The compensated balance draft pick works for 10 lowest-revenue clubs and 10 teams from the lowest markets. Some clubs meet both criteria, so the number of beneficiaries are less than 20. It gives them to take part in extra rounds. Round A takes place between rounds 1 and 2, Round B fulfills the pause between rounds 2 and 3 of the traditional draft.
The round depends on the club’s winning percentage and revenue. Those six best clubs join round A while others qualified to join group B. All participants get bonus money. The teams from pool B receive more money than A teams.
