Hit distance

The hit distance is between the home plate and the place where the ball lands. It includes all the areas – field of play, the foul territory or seats. This measure participates in some calculations like the average hit distance. That is the ratio of the sum of distances to the quantity of batted events. There are two ways to identify the distance: when the ball touches the ground for the first time or after its final stop.
