Hold
What is the hold in baseball?
Is it the official statistic for the player?
The hold is the award to the relief pitcher. It must enter the game in the save situation, record the last out, leaves the game before it ends and its team doesn’t record a save. This statistic isn’t official. It can cause misunderstanding as it uses H ident similar to hits. So find the pitching H to see that.
The pitcher entering in the save should be the true relief. That means starters can’t generate holds if they return to the game. Its team must lead and it should be the potential loser. The pitcher’s team lead isn’t possible more than three runs maintaining its lead for one or more innings. It can enter the game with possible tying run on base, deck or at bat. The third variable condition is at least three effective innings.
