Jacked
In baseball, “jacked” has two primary meanings:
1. Hitting a home run: This is the most popular definition. “Jacking one out” and “hitting a jack” are two slang expressions for hitting a home run. It accentuates the strength and ferocity of the impact.
2. Removing a pitcher from the game: This is a less usual and informal practice. It’s a synonym for “jerked” or “hooked,” indicating that the manager removes the pitcher due to bad performance or a planned shift.
It is critical to evaluate the context to determine the intended meaning. If you hear that during a home run, it’s undoubtedly referring to the first meaning. The second interpretation is more probable if it is used during a pitch shift, particularly with negative connotations.
