Neighrorhood play
What is neighborhood play in baseball?
The neighborhood play is usually acceptable to the double plays. That option suggests the fielder has the chance to force out the runner on second. It needs to catch the ball and throw it quickly in this attempt without touching the second base or arriving there earlier than it catches the ball. As this is the force out, the ball carrier has to touch the force base earlier than the target runner arrives or tag it under the same conditions.
The play has different calls in leagues. Its classic applications are dangerous as the play sometimes needs traumatic collisions. That happens because the fielder needs to interfere with the runner’s path. For security reasons, the umpires often allow the performer the first out before it touches the base.
