Euro move is an individual offensive move similar to a strong side step but has the ball thrown to the ground earlier to avoid travelling violations. The euro move is a move in basketball where the ball handler picks up their dribble, takes a step in one direction, then immediately takes a second and explosive step in the opposite direction. This move is used to help fake out or evade a defender in order to get off a clean shot. This move is most commonly used by a ball handler who is driving to the basket for a layup.
The euro move is a completely legal in all levels of basketball. Since the euro move is only two steps, it is not traveling as a ball handler is allowed to take two steps after they gather the ball.
