What is the definition of pond hockey?
What is called pond hockey?
What does pond hockey stand for?
Pond Hockey is a term used to reference any type of hockey played outdoors on a frozen body of water. Pond hockey can be organized with official leagues, teams and rules and there are even pond hockey championships played in various places in North America.
In Pond Hockey there are usually no barriers such as boards or glass but there may be a barrier of snow to help keep the puck in play. Various things in the disorganized or “pick-up” pond hockey games are used as goals from objects to actual nets. These nets are usually smaller than a regular hockey net. There usually is no goaltender which places an emphasis on skating and stick handling abilities.
