The rivalry between Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers started in 1970 due to AFL-NFL merger. Both teams are constant divisional opponents meeting two times per year.

Steelers beat their opponents 31-17 in the 2005 Wild Card round. Bengals led 17-7 early despite the injury of their quarterback Carson Palmers. Steelers rallied succesfuly.
