The rivalry between Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers started in 1970 due to AFL-NFL merger. Both teams are constant divisional opponents meeting two times per year.
These teams can meet in postseason too. It may be any level up to Conference Championship game. That happened twice in the rivalry history. Steelers beat their opponents 31-17 in the 2005 Wild Card round. Bengals led 17-7 early despite the injury of their quarterback Carson Palmers. Steelers rallied succesfuly. They won the title that year. Ten years later Pittsburgh Steeler had to fumble and kick the 35-yard field goal to win the game. Denver Broncos stopped their way to championship.
