The Dallas Cowboys is a professional football franchise based in Fort Worth. It was established in 1960. This club spent all its years in the National Football League, so after the merger it joined the National Football Conference in 1970. They’re the unchangeable members of the conference’s East division.

They showed their ambitions since their first days of existence. The team had about 30 annual appearances in playoffs from 1966 to 1999. There were only misses in 1974, 1984, and 1997. Five of these attempts poured into the Super Bowl Cup. That was the merit of Tom Landry, who coached the Cowboys for 28 years till 1988. He brought two Super Bowls in 1971 and 1977. Jimmy Johnson helped them to win two consecutive wins in 1992 and 1993. He was fired the same year despite the success. Barry Switzer coached the owners of the Super Bowl XXX owners. The latest achievement of this team is the 2021 Divisional round.

The AT&T stadium is the third stadium for Dallas Cowboys. The first arena was the Cotton Bowl. It’s the oldest multi-sport arena used by the team from 1960 to 1971. They had to share the arena with AFL Dallas Texans until 1969. Then they moved to the Texas Stadium, which opened that year. This arena took the most prolonged period in its history – the Cowboys played their final match there in 2008 before demolishing the arena.

The Dallas Cowboys have strong and long-term rivalries on different levels. Such famous clubs as Washington Commanders, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants as their intradivisional competitors. Some intra- and interconference examples include the Steelers, 49ers, and Vikings.

The Cowboys don’t have officially retired numbers. Some of them are paused in the circuit as their owners contributed significantly to the team’s success. Such performers like Troy Aikman, Jason Witten, and Bob Lilly joined the club and the Pro Football Hall of Fame members. Richard Dairymple, the PR director of the team, informed that the Cowboys is maybe the single team without official retired jersey numbers.
