Dead ball

The dead ball is a condition between the plays. It happens in a lot of situations. The leader here is its run out of bounds. This stops the play clock too. The dead ball also occurs if the opponent tackles the player with a ball or downs it with hitting. If the team scores a resultive attempt it also is dead. Some leagues award it relating to punt. For example, it’s a fair catch. The NFL removed touchdown from dead ball list in 2015. Now TD follows with 2-point attempt.

Sometimes the judges identify the dead ball foul. The most widespread are roughness and unwanted conduct, illegal contacts. These situations lead to the yardage penalty, loss of the down or ball possession change.
