Non-football injury list
What is non-football injury list in American football?
How active NFI differs from reserve?
The non-football injury list includes all players who were injured outside the field. Its second variation is the non-football illness list with all players who got illnesses not related to the football. These lists classify on active and reserve. An active list renews before each game. It shows that the player is almost ready to take part in the practice or game.
If the player still has problems with health, it stays in the reserve list. They can’t take part in the first six regular season games. Then it has a three-week window to move to the active roster. If the player can’t start practicing during this period, it remains on the reserve list till the season ends. NFL teams have no obligations to pay salary to these players.
