Offensive coordinator

The offensive coordinator is the head coach’s assistant who deals with the attacks. This person must learn offensive and defensive strategies as this knowledge helps him study the opponents and understand what formations may bring victory to his team.

The offensive coordinator is on the second tier of the staff depth chart. It calls the plays during the game. Also, it recommends the practice or improvements to the offensive coaches subordinating to the specialist. The coach can operate from the press box rather than sitting on the bench near the sideline.
