Press man technique

The press man is a common technique for a cornerback.

The CB plays a role of a defender here. Its aim is to prevent a receiver from perfect time of a passing combination. That’s why the defender faces the receiver near the line of scrimmage to jam or hit this player. The result is disrupting its route. The CB has a severe advantage – a great position for coverage of short passes while the receiver should take extra efforts to escape the press.
