Snow removal rules
The leagues regulate the snow removal during the game if it hints at the normal game flow. Most leagues require a stop of the game if it has accumulated until the service members clean the field. However, according to the operating manual, the NFL and some competitors allow the players to remove the drifts themselves.
The field crew and team managers are responsible for clearing the end zone and goal line together with outside boundaries. Before the play, the players or servicemen can clear 10 yards behind the current offense. The front of the offense is available to clear during the play. The referee can initiate cleaning the goal line if it has problems with visibility. If the teams are inside the red zone (20 yards or less), the permitted distance shortens to 5 yards because the team can benefit in the case of the field goal.
