Tackling is a defender’s motion aiming to interfere on the ball carrier physically. In the case of success, the opponent fumbles a ball without the possibility to resume it. Tackling variations include getting out of bounds or touching the player’s body to the ground. If the ball carrier fell or left field bounds, the ball becomes dead and the play ceases till the referee’s permission to start the next play.
The tackle moves have different names which correspond to the aim or victim. For example, these players force quarterbacks for quarterback sacks. The tackle for loss has the task of causing the loss of yardage for the offense.
Tacklers not always use the wrapping method. They often take a running start and unbalance the ball carrier. These moves may be hazardous so there are some serious restrictions for players. The tacklers can’t remove the facemask or helmet from its opponent. It leads to a 15-yard penalty. The same result waits for anybody who uses its helmet to stop the ball carrier. 15 yards penalty is an award for roughing the passer after it realized the forward pass attempt. But any tackle of the player without the ball is a block.
