Paddy Driscoll was a quarterback playing for the Wildcats and some other teams. He won the All-American honor in 1916. The quarterback had a beautiful performance in the 1919 Rose Bowl when his Great Lakes Naval team beat opponents from Mare Island Maritime base. Driscoll was everywhere on the field and in the statistic sheet. He joined the Chicago Cardinals in 1923. Paddy demonstrated great performance. 27 points in a single game. He qualified for All-Pro teams six times during 11 years of service time. Driscoll has been a member of the College Football Hall of Fame since 1965 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame since 1974.
Walt Kiesling was an offensive guard and tackle. He spent 36 years in the NFL as a player and later the coach. He played for Chicago Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, Duluth Eskimos. Kiesling was a perfect coach too. Heled the Steelers to their first title in their history.
William Roy Lyman was a large tackle. His weight 233 pounds and the height 6’ 2’’ helped the Bears to win the 1933 champion’s title. Almost all seasons were successful for him. Lyman had only one fail season. . His performance was so great that he joined the Hall of Fame in 1964.
Charley Trippi was another player who wore number 2 in Chicago Cardinals, He was the second top-paid player after Red Grange. Trippi responded with perfect conditions and qualifications to the All-Star game. Pro Football Hall of Fame accepted him in 1968.
