In 1887, when a schoolboy from Germany covered a route called “Die Vajoletturme” , it officially became a sport in Italy, England and Germany. The first rules were established in 1947. Forty years later, in 1987, the first international organization was founded. In 1988, the first World Championship was held, and in 1990, it became an annual event. In 2007, the International Federation of Sport Climbing was founded. 68 countries joined it.
