Lupenreiner Hattrick
What does the “lupenreiner hattrick” stand for in football?
What is called the “lupenreiner hattrick”?
What is the meaning of the lupenreiner hattrick?
A perfect hat-trick is when a player scores a goal with their left foot, one with their right foot and one with their head in a single game. It can be in any order, and if it is scored all in one half, it gets the name lupenreiner hattrick (flawless hat-trick).
Some of the most famous perfect hat-tricks include Peter Crouch against Arsenal in 2007, Bas Dost against Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, Michel Platini against Yugoslavia in 1984 and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink against Tottenham in 2002. Chelsea’s Didier Drogba even accomplished the lupenreiner hattrick in a game against Wigan in 2010.
One of the perfect hat-tricks also came from Chelsea, this time from American Christian Pulisic. He scored first with his left, then the right before flicking it in with his head from a corner. There’s a reason these players can take home the match ball: it is a real achievement.
