Poacher

A goal poacher is an instinctive scorer that knows how to maneuver effectively into the penalty area of the opposing team. A goal poacher’s position in the team is a striker or forward. Their main role is to score goals for the team. A poacher has the talent and skill to maximize the team’s scoring capacity.

A poacher has the innate ability to put the ball in the net of the opposing team. They do not usually play a big role in the build up to the point, but the great ones are at the right place and time to score.

Poaching is a term used to describe illegal hunting of protected game animals or fish. In soccer, poaching is used similarly to describe a striker’s intention to sneak up to the goalie of the opposing team.
