Shin Guards

What are Shin Guards?

What is meant by Shin Guards in football?

What are Shin Guards made of?

Shin Guards, or commonly known as Shin Pads, are a piece of clothing worn to protect the player’s arms and legs from injury. Shin Pads are usually made from fiberglass, foam rubber, Polyurethane, plastic, and metal. These materials are strong enough to protect the player’s limbs from strong impacts. Since football is such rigorous activity, it’s obvious that players might unintentionally hurt each other.

Shin Guards are imposed not only in football but also in league sports. It’s only natural for players to have hurtful contacts with each other, yet the most important thing is that each of them is still highly protected. According to the FIFA Equipment Regulation book, the player should have to wear shin guards as part of their uniform.

Although there might be unwanted and extremely hurtful accidents during the game, still the shin guard’s purpose is at least to minimize the possibility of getting hurt. When it comes to kids playing football, it’s all about fun, but having too much fun can lead to extreme competition. Unavoidable accidents can happen anytime, that’s where the shin guards had to intervene.

Shin Guards are used to giving the edge of protection to players, especially football is an extremely physical game. The Shin Guard’s responsibility is to reduce the consequences of getting hurt. This would also give players the confidence to keep moving forward and play hard as they can. Confidence is very vital in every game and shin guard is the only possible sports equipment that can protect them.
