How to Bet on “Formula-1” Correctly?

80% of people bet on football, and only about 3% – on “Formula-1”. I think this is a huge omission and I propose to reconsider my attitude to the “royal races”. They can and should be earned. So, what exactly you need to consider before making a bet.

Features of the route

Nothing surprising, right? Races are held in different countries on five continents. This is a “Formula-1” chip, which makes its own corrections and assesses the chances of pilots at different stages. Each driver has his own style of aerobatics – it is clear that not all routes are to his liking. The specificity of the track often determines the rhythm of the race, it happens that the pilot can use his advantages, or vice versa be limited to the features of the track. For example, some racers better feel slow city routes, and others – fast traditional motor racing tracks. In addition, on the “Marina Bay” in Singapore and “Yas Marina” in Dubai, the movement of fireballs is done counter-clockwise, which creates difficulties for the pilots. Such nuances need to be known and taken into account.

Starting grid

The upcoming stage of the Monaco Grand Prix, which takes place in the city, gives a minimum of chances for overtaking. The same can be said about the slowest “Hungaroring”, which will be in the summer – there the coincidence of the starting grid of cars reaches 90%. What can’t you say about the Grand Prix of Belgium in the Spa, where almost every race is a continuous action with steep turns of cars and events. There are other routes that contribute to more aggressive attacks of riders. For example, in Sepang, Shanghai, Bahrain, the width of the route reaches 20 meters, which only adds opportunities for attacks and changing positions.

Tires

In season-2013, teams and pilots constantly complained of high wear and tear of tires, which forced the Pirelli to make changes in the direction of reliability.

As a result, tire wear became more stable, and the ratio between the starting and finishing positions reached a very high value – in 84% of the races the starting and finishing positions of the pilots did not change in practice. After the tires became more obedient, Sebastian Vettel won 9 Grand Prix in a row, and 52% of pilots who started from the pole position finished the race at the top of the pedestal. The FIA introduced changes in the new season, but this does not prevent the Mercedes from dominating in 2014.

Weather

Change in weather conditions makes serious adjustments to the course of the race. Here, the tactic of pit stops, and the “shoe” of machines are important. So there must also be those who, in the rain, do better/worse than their competitors. Among the current line of pilots, Vettel and Button stand out for their success in such conditions. The Grand Prix of Belgium at the end of summer is just famous for its rainy weather. Therefore, it is worth keeping in mind the pilots who traditionally strongly advocate in the rain or underdogs, in order to know what risk you are taking. Favorites do not belong here.

The power of the car

The situation of the driver is closely intertwined with the technical factors of the car.

Figuratively speaking, if the car does not go, then the world champion will not save the situation either.

And here it is very important that the drivers themselves talk about their cars. Unlike many other sports, here the comments of experts and participants of the Grand Prix are informative enough and sometimes give more food for thought than the results and impressions of the past races. It is clear that it is worthwhile to monitor the number of pilots’ gatherings, and, most importantly, their reason. If time after time there are problems of a technical nature, then it is worth pausing and not risking how much in vain in the bets on the pilots of this team.

Regulations of the season

Every season the regulations change, which introduces serious adjustments to the readiness of teams and cars. So, this year the key was the transition from 2.4-liter V8 to the new turbocharged 1.6-liter V6 engines, as well as the introduction of the ERS system instead of the KERS system. In addition to the new engines, fuel consumption is also regulated.

In the new season, pilots are required to spend no more than 100 kg of fuel per race, which is 60% less than last season. The introduction of the limit has led to the fact that the importance of racing strategy has increased. Pilots will have to either go fast at the beginning of the race, and then save fuel, or save fuel at the start, and then catch up in the middle and end of the race. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that fuel consumption will not affect the qualification, its importance there is not commensurate with the race.

Choosing a bookmaker

The specificity of the bets for Formula One will require you to be clear about the strategy, as well as the choice of the bookmaker, since not all have the same offers and a wide range of events. This type of betting is difficult not only for analyzing players, it is also complex for calculating bookmaker probabilities, and therefore not every one of them is ready to offer wide opportunities for betting. There are additional possibilities in this if you are good at the business, but for most, everything will be reduced to a lottery with unequal opportunities.

Choice of the strategy

If you only play pairs to compare racers, then the same principles work here as in other sports – two outcomes, you make your choice in favor of one of them. As for the so-called “outtraits”, where it is proposed to bet on the winner of the race/qualification or prize places (podium), then there are a number of strategies, the most popular is the Dutch one.

The principle of the strategy is based on the fact that you are recruiting a pool of racers to win or hit the scoring zone in such a way that the total amount of bets does not exceed the minimum win amount. By the same principle, the amount of the bet for individual riders is selected. Due to the fact that there are a lot of pilots in the race, the coefficients most often start from 3.0 and higher, which allows you to bet on three or more pilots and increase the chances of success.

They won’t get us

Some practice the form of the Martingale, based in the middle of the season on the success of teams and riders, waiting for the victory of the selected favorites, increasing the amount from the track to the track. Taking into account again the sizes of the coefficients, this Martingale allows not so aggressively to increase the amount of bets, or cover a large number of pilots, thus, diversifying the risks. Here, as in the case of any progressive system, it is important to calculate bookmaker limits for this type of bet, as well as the capabilities of your bank, for how many iterations it will last.

Who is better: the team or the pilot?

What does the victory in the championship or a separate stage depend on:from the skill and behavior of the driver or from the technical characteristics of the car? Unfortunately, now the result depends much more on the car than on the pilot. Strong teams have in their composition experienced riders who, as a rule, do not allow a lot of mistakes during the race, so the fastest car wins in the championship.

According to the rules, two pilots participate from each team in each stage, so any participant who has a good car should try to get ahead of his partner, seeing him as a competitor. Also in the event that the rider got a slow car, the only goal for him is getting ahead of his partner, as this is the only pilot on the track, who also was unlucky with the car.

Free races

Prior to the qualification and Sunday race, during the three sessions, so-called free races are held. Their results are used by bookmakers to set the coefficients. During free races, the tactics of the participants may differ:some will go half-way in free mode, others will fill in less fuel and try to “blast”. Thus, based on the results of free races bookmakers will determine and change the chances, teams will pay attention not to time, but to the state of the car, and you will be able to get income.

Qualification or race

The most popular type of betting is for qualification, since the player of the bookmaker office does not need to worry about the strategy chosen by the drivers, problems and problems at the start or pit stops, collisions, car safety and the characteristics of the cars. During the qualification, it is much easier to predict the weather conditions, and the chances that the car will have mechanical problems are significantly lower. The real pilot on the track, who was also unlucky with the car.

Types of bets

There are many different types of bets on Formula-1, the most common of which are:

  • the winner (in qualification and race) – the bet on the first pilot who reached the finish. To predict the winner, you must determine the fastest team, and then – its fastest rider. Often, it is very difficult to do this because of the many factors that could jeopardize your bet, so in most cases it is recommended to avoid this type of betting;
  • the number of finish (in the race) – the number of participants in the race who can reach the finish line, without getting off the track. The coefficients offered by the bookmakers usually depend on weather conditions (the higher the humidity, the more likely that most pilots will not be able to finish). Also, a certain influence on this bet is the driver’s luck;
  • podium – will the pilot get into the top three;
  • safety car (in the race) – whether the safety car will leave the race, used in adverse weather conditions or after accidents on the track;
  • the fastest lap is the name of the rider who will be able to show the fastest time when one lap passes;
  • finish – will not finish the race – will the pilot get to the finish line;
  • separation distance – the distance between the first and second finishers;
  • point zone – possible 8 best pilots, determined at the end of the race;
  • which of the pilots will be the first to leave the race;
  • how many cars will not complete the first round;
  • which of the technicians first leaves the race.

In any case, no one offers to bet at once, it is enough to try your hand at paper or to create a blog where you can record your results and observations. Who knows, maybe Formula 1, in addition to pleasure, will bring a profit.
