The Strategy of Flat Betting on Sports
The flat system or strategy is successfully used in sports betting as well, so let’s consider it a little more. This system is a kind of management of your bankroll (the total amount of money on the game account).
What is the essence of the flat strategy?
You will be surprised at the simplicity of the principle of flat strategy. The basic idea of flat is to determine the appropriate % of each bet (usually 1-5%) of the bankroll amount and follow this rule for a long period of time (months, years). Flat is sometimes called the “fixed-bet strategy”.
To begin with, you must take 1% of the amount and keep it for a year or two, updating the amount of the bet every month. For example, allocate 10,000 for the game – 1% is 100, this is the money you put, no more and no less during the month. At the end of the month, you look at the bank, say, it became 15000, we consider 1% of this amount – it’s 150 and so on.
Types of flat
Academic (expert). This is a type in which the player chooses the bet percentage independently, but within 1-3%. Naturally, the choice depends on skill, knowledge in the field of bets and so on.
Static. This is a type of betting that is described in the example with a bet size of 1%. Come back up the text and read, if you do not remember. A very long-term system and very safe, it won’t allow you to deposit with huge speed, at least.
Aggressive. This is a type of flat in which the bettor makes bets at the rate of 2-3% of the bankroll amount, which is quite aggressive game in comparison with static or academic types.
Chaotic. This is a type of flat where the player can, depending on the events, use up to 10% of the bankroll.
Tips when using flat
- Do not increase more than 2% of the bet amount.
- Train yourself and use this percentage for the long term without getting frustrated.
- Actualize the amount of bets approximately once a month (see the example above). Such conversion of bets is called control points.
- In most cases, bet only on probable events with the odds of about 1.8-1.9 (the probability of 80% -90%).
- Use bookmakers with low margins, but only checked ones.
- Do more bets on sure events in order to get enough profit.
- Together with flat Value bets suit too.
Flat and Martingale
Many people think that Martingale can be used in combination with flat. Well, without further ado we will say – this is complete nonsense! Martingale and Flat are incompatible stories; even the Mild Martingale isn’t good. Well, where to go? There is no point to write the same nonsense, of which the Internet is full.
Flat and Value bets
And this symbiosis will help you a lot! The essence of the strategy of Value Betting easily fits into the Flat ideology and it’s recommended using it!
Conclusion
The flat betting system is a boring and long story, you need to have a big bank, BUT it has a lot of advantages, as a bankroll management. For example, you won’t lose your bank, it’s easy to understand, you can combine it with other strategies and it gives you the opportunity to be in the black. We adopt it!
