Monday Night Football’s seventh and final game of the NFL season features an interconference showdown between the Arizona Cardinals and the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers, who have a commanding 11-4 lead in the all-time regular season series against the clubs, are in a strong position. They defeated Denver 23-16 on the road in their most recent game, while Green Bay thrashed the Cardinals 34-13 in their most recent matchup. The Chargers have also won the past two meetings, the most recent being a 25-24 away victory on November 27, 2022.
In the AFC West, Los Angeles is in second place, two games behind the undefeated Chiefs. With their victory against Denver, they moved to 3-2 on the season. The Chargers, known for their formidable defence, have the greatest scoring defence in the league—allowing just 13.2 points per game. Their offence, while not as dominant, still ranks 29th in passing and 10th in rushing.
In contrast, after their defeat to Green Bay, the Cardinals’ record fell to 2-4. They are in third place in the NFC West, behind the Seahawks and 49ers by one game each. The Cardinals, struggling to find their footing, have a defence that ranks 27th in scoring defence, allowing an average of 27.2 points per game, while their offence is 24th in passing and 7th in rushing.
Considering these circumstances, the most prudent bet is on the Chargers to secure the victory.
