The American Brandon Royval and the Japanese samurai Tatsuro Taira will compete in the title fight of the flyweight. In the past, Royval was the champion of the LFA.
Royval has worked out his own style of fighting. He combined the techniques of Thai boxing in the upper position and juu-jitsu on the ground. He always tries to lay the opponent on the canvas, takes a dominant position, and performs a chokehold or “ground and pound” at the end of the fight. Royval is an experienced fighter, and he doesn’t need to change his tactics before the title fight.
The young Japanese Taira, who turned 24, basically adheres to a similar style. So far, he hasn’t let him down. No one could defeat him. Now, he is a contender for the flyweight crown.
Taira tries to win in the stalls by submission. He is a short and compact man compared to Royval. He likes wrestling and takedowns. Also, he is left-handed. Taira will create problems for the Americans in the rack position.
