Marco Baroni has never been famous for his ability to build an attacking game, but this season Lazio are doing just fine in this aspect. The team is willingly going forward with the whole team, leaving only a couple of midfielders behind. Therefore, in five of their last six official matches, they have scored at least two goals.
Alberto Gilardino could well have been sacked after the last round, but Genoa showed character in the home meeting with Bologna and managed to draw the match, losing by 73 minutes with a score of 0:2. The real hero of the game was center forward Andrea Pinamonti, who scored two beautiful goals. However, Genoa’s attack is still in a deplorable state. Over the eight rounds played, the team has scored eight goals – only Empoli, Venezia and Lecce have scored less in the current season. Not surprisingly, the last two teams are now in the relegation zone with the Griffins.
