Last time Namibia made it through to the African Cup of Nations playoffs, but this qualifier was a disaster. The team lost all four of their past matches and with two rounds to go, they had already lost any chance of qualifying.
Cameroon is one of the top national teams on the continent and in this qualification justifies the title. It has beaten Kenya twice, Namibia once, and only lost points against Zimbabwe. Although only one match against Kenya was easy, all the others were hard fought and goals were scored with great difficulty.
No more than one goal has been scored in two of Namibia’s four matches and Cameroon’s three games in this qualifier. In a personal meeting in the first round there was only one goal, and then the Cameroon national team played on their own field and it is unlikely that they will be more active away.
