A series of five matches without a win has brought Newcastle to the 12th line in the table. The team now has an equal balance of wins, draws and defeats. Eddie Howe’s team needs to start rectifying the situation. Newcastle this season has already managed to take points away from Manchester City. Won in the championship Tottenham, and in the League Cup Chelsea. No one will be afraid of Arsenal at St. James’ Park.
Arsenal have the toughest stretch of three consecutive away games ahead of them. Two points losses in a row is an unacceptable luxury for a team that wants to claim the championship. The gap to Manchester City is now five points, and only just under a quarter of the way through the tournament.
Newcastle won the cup match against Chelsea, but the Blues played with a reserve squad, while the Magpies played with almost the main squad. This will seriously affect Eddie Howe’s team, which spent a lot of energy, while the opponent was able to save it. Arsenal have been losing points in recent league matches and will now be very motivated.
