PSV have been incredibly dominant in the Eredivisie, winning 10 out of 11 matches with an impressive 37:9 goal difference. However, when traveling outside of their home country and facing serious opponents on the European stage, PSV seem to lose their face. The results in the Champions League leave much to be desired: 28th place in the overall table and only two points.
The first rounds in the Champions League were quite difficult for Girona: a minimal defeat to PSG (0:1) and a tense match with Feyenoord (2:3). However, in the last round they managed to get an important victory over Slovan (2:0). The team needs to improve its defense and play more compact.
In the upcoming match PSV will be very motivated to score their first points. The hosts have a strong enough home shape, which can not be said about Girona, which does not play as confidently away as at home. In addition, the Red and Whites have key and experienced players in their lineup, such as Luke de Jong, who has incredible experience in the Champions League.
