Beard
Who is Beard in the bookmaker terminology?
What does Beard do?
Beard is a player making bets for another forecaster, who for some reason doesn’t want to open an account or can’t play in a particular betting shop.
Beard is an intermediary between a player and a bookmaker. It happens that a person can’t make bets in a shop he or she likes (they blocked or simply don’t want to register). Nevertheless, they find a trusted person, gives him or her money, which they plan to spend on bets. Further, this trustee commits bets in a chosen betting shop instead of them, while Beard, as a rule, simply listens to an anonymous player and makes bets selected by them. An intermediary can take a part of a profit to himself/herself as a commission, but at the same time doesn’t lose anything if a game has been lost.
The services of intermediaries are used by those who for some reason can’t make bets or want to hide their data from bookmakers.
