Each Way
What is the Each Way?
In fact, this is one of the types of bet-express, which includes two outcomes – the victory of the horse (this bet is especially popular at races) and taking it prize-winning place.
Let’s suppose a betting shop proposes to bet on winning of a favorite horse with the odds of 1 to 1 (for a hundred pounds you get a gain of one hundred pounds). But you can still bet “Each Way ¼ 1-2”. This means that you can bet not only that the horse will come first, but also that it will come second, but you get only the fourth part of that win, as if the horse came first. Since this bet betting shop considers as two forecasts together, it invites the player to double the bet amount. That is, instead of 100 pounds to bet already two hundred.
In digits it looks like this: the horse comes first, both bets win: 100 + ¼ * 100 = 125 pounds of net winnings. The horse comes second, the first bet does not play, the second plays. The net loss is 75 pounds (100-1/4 * 100). The horse comes third – your loss is 200 pounds.
