What is Going Allowance?
In what conditions is Going Allowance used?
Going Allowance is the correction for track condition or weather conditions in the race.
It is used in dog races in order to calculate the time of the race as accurately as possible. The correction can be either positive or negative.
For example, if the weather is fine and the track is perfect, some tenths of a second may be added to the time of the dogs at the finish (depending on the situation). If the conditions are close to the reference, then nothing is taken away from the final time. In bad weather or with poor preparation of the track from the final time, certain values are also subtracted.
