What is Point Spread in betting shops?
What does Point Spread mean for a bookmaker?
Point Spread is the type of bet, which takes into account the difference of scored goals (points, washers).
In each foreign bookmaker, bets on Point Spread are accepted. This type of bet implies a difference in class between rivals. The term Point Spread is also known by the definitions of odds or handicaps. Such bets are made on the basis of the expected difference in the final score of the match. For example, Point Spread (-2.5) in a football match means that the team must win with a difference of at least 3 goals, otherwise the bet will be lost. A positive handicap means that the team must not lose with a difference more than indicated in the value of the handicap.
