Who wore number 23 in volleyball?
What number you wear can often be a big part of a player’s volleyball identity. Some players care more than others about the number they don, but even for those who are indifferent to them, those numbers help connect players with young fans and can even have sentimental value. Like it or not, numbers are a big part of what can make this game great.
Gabriela Guimarães
Gabriela Braga Guimarães, nickname Gabi, is a Brazilian indoor volleyball player. She plays as an outside spiker. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, in the Women’s tournament, winning a silver medal.
Guimarães played with her national team, winning the bronze at the 2014 World Championship when her team defeated Italy 3–2 in the bronze medal match.
During the 2015 FIVB Club World Championship, Guimarães played with the Brazilian club Rexona Ades Rio and her team lost the bronze medal match to the Swiss Voléro Zürich. She helped her national team to win the 2015 South American Championship gold medal and she was also awarded Most Valuable Player and Best Outside Hitter.
Daima Del Rió Preval
Daima Del Rió Preval is a Cuban female volleyball player. She played for the Cuba women’s national volleyball team and played for La Habana in 2017.
She was part of the Cuban national team at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.
Gaila Ceneida Gonzalez Lopez
Gaila Ceneida González López is a Dominican Republic volleyball player. She competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Diana Reyes
Diana Reyes is a Puerto Rican female volleyball player. She is known as part of the Puerto Rico women’s national volleyball team. On club level she played for Caguas in 2015.
Ekaterina Ulanova
Ekaterina Ulanova is a Russian volleyball player. She competed for the Russia women’s national volleyball team in the 2008 and the 2012 Summer Olympics. She also won the gold medal at the 2014 FIVB Club World Championship, playing with Dinamo Kazan.
In 2010, she joined Dinamo Kazan, winning with this team the Russian Superleague in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and the Russian Cup, in 2010 and 2012.
With the Russian club Ulanova won Dinamo Kazan the 2013–14 CEV Champions League held in Baku, Azerbaijan, defeating 3-0 the hosts Rabita Baku in the semifinals and 3-0 to the Turkish VakıfBank İstanbul in the final.
Ulanova won the 2014 FIVB Club World Championship gold medal playing with the Russian club Dinamo Kazan that defeated 3-0 the Brazilian Molico Osasco in the championship match. She was also awarded competition’s Best Libero.
Kelsey Robinson
Kelsey Marie Robinson is an American indoor volleyball player known for playing with the United States women’s national volleyball team. Robinson won gold with the national team at the 2014 World Championship, the Rimini Volleyball Nations League, the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, and bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
Robinson played college women’s volleyball at University of Tennessee and University of Nebraska–Lincoln. In 2014, while at Nebraska, Robinson was named as one of the four finalists for the Honda Sports Award in volleyball.
Robinson was part of the USA national team that won the 2014 World Championship gold medal when their team defeated China 3–1 in the final match.
Robinson won the 2016–17 CEV Champions League silver medal with Imoco Volley Conegliano after losing the final match 0–3 to the Turkish VakıfBank Istanbul winning also the Best Outside Spiker award.
In May 2021, she was named to the 18-player roster for the FIVB Volleyball Nations League tournament that was played May 25 – June 24 in Rimini, Italy.
On June 7, 2021, US National Team head coach Karch Kiraly announced she would be part of the 12-player Olympic roster for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. USA won the gold medal for the first time in history.

Flávio César Resende Gualberto is a Brazilian volleyball player, known as a member of the Brazil men’s national volleyball team and Italian club Volley Tonno Callipo.
Jakub Popiwczak
Jakub Popiwczak is a Polish volleyball player, known as a member of the Poland men’s national volleyball team, Polish Champion (2021). At the professional club level, he chose to play for Jastrzębski Węgiel.
In 2012, he joined Jastrzębski Węgiel and debuted in PlusLiga. In 2013, his club won a bronze medal of the Polish Championship. On 23 March 2014, Popiwczak with his teammates beat Zenit Kazan in a match for third place of the 2013–14 CEV Champions League held in Ankara and won the bronze medals. In 2014, he achieved his second bronze medal of the Polish Championship.
Bozidar Vucicevic
Božidar Vučićević is a Serbian volleyball player who was a member of Slovenian club ACH Volley. He is multiple-time Serbian Champion (2017, 2018, 2019).
He is also known for playing with Cheonan Hyundai Capital Skywalkers in the Korean V-League.
Luigi Randazzo
Luigi Randazzo is an Italian male volleyball player. He is known as part of the Italy men’s national volleyball team. On club level he chose to play for BluVolley Verona.
He took part at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship, in which the Italian national team arrived fifth.
Wassim Ben Tara
Wassim Ben Tara is a Tunisian volleyball player of Polish descent, known as a member of the Tunisia men’s national volleyball team. At the professional club level, he decided to play for Stal Nysa, PlusLiga.
Agnes Victoria Michel Tosi
Agnes Victoria Michel Tosi is an Argentine volleyball player. She is known as part of the Argentina women’s national volleyball team.
She participated in the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship, 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U23 World Championship, 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix, the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship, and 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League. At club level she played for San Lorenzo in 2018.
Vangeliya Rachkovska
Vangeliya Rachkovska is a Bulgarian volleyball player. She is known as a member of the Bulgaria women’s national volleyball team.
She competed at the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U23 World Championship, 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League, and 2021 Women’s European Volleyball League, winning a gold medal.
At club level, she played for VC Maritza, UTE Budapest, and Joker Świecie.
Emily Maglio
Emily Maglio is a Canadian female volleyball player. She was part of the Canada women’s national volleyball team, and participated at the 2018 Women’s Pan-American Volleyball Cup, and 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.
She played for the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
