The fortunate players who get to choose their own number often choose a lucky number, stick with the one they’ve always worn or wear a number in honor of a family member. Some players though, choose a number that’s cute or a deep and meaningful number.
Saeid Marouf
Mir Saeid Marouf Lakerani is an Iranian volleyball setter. He was the captain of the Iranian national team. He was named best setter at the 2014 World League and 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic qualifying tournaments, as well as most valuable player at the 2013 Asian Championship. He participated in the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics. He was voted Iranian Sportsmen of the year for (2015–16) of the Iranian calendar by an Iranian TV.
David Lee
David Cameron Lee is an American volleyball player, known for playing with Indian Club, Kochi Blue Spikers. As a member of the United States men’s national volleyball team, he is an Olympic Champion at the 2008 Summer Olympics, an Olympic bronze medalist at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and a multiple-time Olympian (2008, 2012, 2016). He is also a NORCECA Champion (2007, 2013), a gold medalist at the 2015 World Cup, and a gold medalist of the World League (2008, 2014).
Robert Horstink
Robert Horstink is a volleyball player from the Netherlands, who represented his native country at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. There he ended up in ninth place with the Dutch Men’s National Team.
He mainly plays as an outside hitter and is known for his vertical jump, his cocky attitude, and his powerful backrow attacks.
Artem Volvich
Artem Aleksandrovich Volvich is a Russian volleyball player, known as a member of Russia men’s national volleyball team and Russian club VC Zenit-Kazan.
On March 17, 2013, with Lokomotiv Novosibirsk he achieved gold medal of the 2012–13 CEV Champions League. In 2013 he won the gold medal at the Universiade. He was a member of the Russian team at the 2016 Olympics and he received and individual award for the Best Middle Blocker. At his second Olympics in Tokyo, he won the silver medal.
